Who We Are

Jerry Bowers, Ph.D., is the General Manager of Advent Consulting Associates. His background includes human resources management and consulting for large organizations across the country.  He earned his doctorate in industrial and organizational psychology from the University of South Florida. In addition to consulting, Dr. Bowers currently serves as an adjunct professor in the Keller Graduate School of Management.

Verne Bowers is the Director of Nonprofit Development for Advent Consulting.  Her expertise includes needs analysis, program design, formulation of policies and procedures, strategic planning, campaign organizing and grant writing.  Verne currently serves on the Board of Directors for Cristo Rey Catholic High School in Sacramento.  She has a Bachelor's Degree in English from the College of the Holy Spirit in the Phillippines, a Paralegal Certificate from UC Berkeley, and expertise in Tagalog. 

Bill James, Ph.D., is a language expert for Advent Consulting and a professor of Spanish language, culture, and literature at colleges and universities in the Sacramento area. He has applied is language skills in research for California Public Health Foundation and the Center for Disease Control.  His most recent book, Dependence, Independence, and Death: Toward a Psycho-biography of Delmira Agustini has been published for international distribution.  Dr. James received his doctorate in Hispanic Studies from the University of Kentucky.
